How much should you put on a massage gift card?
It helps to compare the card with an actual service price. Our Shiatsu menu lists 60 minutes at $85 and 90 minutes at $120. Those are useful starting points when deciding whether to contribute toward a visit or give enough face value for a particular session.
The examples below compare today’s listed menu prices with the four card amounts. They exclude extras and gratuity. Check the card’s redemption terms before promising that a particular charge will be covered.
Scroll across the table to compare both options.
| Gift card amount | A useful price comparison | Who it may suit |
|---|---|---|
| $50 | A contribution toward an $85, 60-minute Shiatsu massage | A thank-you, coworker gift or smaller birthday budget |
| $100 | $15 above the listed $85 price of a 60-minute Shiatsu massage | Someone you have in mind for a one-hour visit |
| $150 | $30 above the listed $120 price of a 90-minute Shiatsu massage | Someone who would enjoy a longer appointment |
| $200 | $30 above two $85, 60-minute Shiatsu sessions | A possible gift for two; confirm how one card can be redeemed |
A massage gift card for someone new to massage
Choose the amount without assigning a technique. A first-time guest may want to ask about clothing, pressure and areas of focus before choosing a service. Sending the menu with the gift gives them something concrete to start with.
A gift card for a regular massage guest
If they already have a preferred service and duration, use that current price as your reference. A longer appointment is an option, but it is not automatically the better gift; some people prefer a familiar hour that fits their schedule.
Massage gift ideas for birthdays, holidays and couples
The amount can stay the same while the way you give it changes. Pick the guide that matches what you still need to arrange.
Birthday massage gifts with an open appointment date
Let the birthday person choose when to visit, especially if the birthday week is already busy. Our birthday guide covers group contributions, personal notes and deciding whether to book a surprise outing.
Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day massage gifts
For Mother’s Day, the useful extra may be taking an errand off her calendar. For Valentine’s Day, decide whether you are giving your partner time alone or arranging a visit together. A gift card and a holiday appointment are separate purchases and plans.
How to buy a Healing Shiatsu gift card online
Open our gift card purchase page, select $50, $100, $150 or $200, and review the order before paying. Keep the confirmation in case you or the recipient need help with the purchase.
Before buying a time-sensitive massage gift
If the gift is needed today, call (415) 379-9739 to check the delivery format and timing first. The online purchase page lets you choose an amount; that alone does not tell you when the recipient will receive the card.
Booking a massage with a gift card
The recipient can use the booking link or contact the studio to arrange a service and time. Mention the gift card when booking. Ask about eligible services, any remaining balance and gratuity in that conversation so the payment details are clear before the visit.
A local massage gift in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond
Healing Shiatsu is at 3735 Balboa St, San Francisco, CA 94121. Our regular hours are Monday through Sunday, 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM. If your recipient lives nearby, share the location so they can choose a day that fits their usual routine. For an out-of-town guest, check their travel dates before buying.
You can keep the note simple: “I thought you’d enjoy an hour to yourself. Pick a day that works for you.” Add the studio address and phone number underneath. They will have both the gift and the information needed to use it.
